If you look up Viale dei Colli on maps, you won't find it! That's what the Florentines call the romantic and scenic promenade, which actually runs along a route that includes Viale Michelangelo, Viale Galileo and Viale Machiavelli, in a continuous succession of scenic views, among villas, parks, walls and bastions, towers and olive groves. It starts from Piazzale Michelangelo, the most spectacular viewpoint  over the city, offering a superb view of the most iconic Florentine buildings: between Forte di Belvedere (on the left) and Santa Croce (on the right) soar, with their extraordinary profiles, the Dome of the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, the Bargello, the tower of the Badia Fiorentina. The river and its bridges (Ponte Vecchio in the centre), the hillocks near and far, the frontal view of the hills of Fiesole and Settignano complete this scenario.

It’s time to get behind the wheel! With the advice of our experienced instructor by your side you will feel confident even if the roar of the Ferrari engine will make you shake your wrists. We proceed leaving on the left the ramps of Monte alle Croci and the beautiful Basilica of San Miniato al Monte, with its exceptional Romanesque facade and we face with determination the curves that lead us to the Piazza di Porta Romana, along gardens and sumptuous residences, including the eclectic Villa Cora, one of the most famous and exclusive salons of the elite in the last century now transformed into luxury hotels. We quickly descend the hill leading to Piazza di Porta Romana, the ancient southern entrance to the city, with the bizarre statue Dietrofront by Michelangelo Pistoletto looking at us from the center of the roundabout.

We regain our speed to go back uphill. The sound of the engine continues to give us emotions and adrenaline. Brunelleschi's dome begins to peep out and tells us that we are returning to Piazzale Michelangelo. One last roar and we turn off the engine: but the sensations we felt at the wheel will remain with us forever.
